Hello all, long time no see huh?
It’s been over a month since I last sat down to talk to you all, uni life has been keeping me very busy. So whilst I have a few minuets free I thought I’d sit down and get you all up to speed on what’s been happening and talk about some cool projects I’ve got lined up. Continue reading “A little update”
Good morning, afternoon or evening to you all!
I’m pretty excited today to share with you all my latest little side project. I think anyone with any interest in writing or words will love this just as much as I do.
remember how in May I wrote a post called Healing through poetry? It wasn’t a particularly long or in-depth post, but I discussed how writing bad poetry had helped me during difficult times. It was a bit different from my usual posts, but you guys seemed to really enjoy it (yes, I was surprised), well this is quite similar to that. This side project wasn’t something I ever intended to share on here but I thought a few of you may enjoy it and want to create your own one, so I snapped up a few photos this morning whilst I was in my pajamas still (its super cloudy today so moments of good lighting can not be missed) and got to work writing it out.
I want to introduce you all to my word tin… Continue reading “Inside my word tin”
Well guys, I never been happier to be behind my laptop. It’s been a few weeks since my last post hasn’t it?
I’ve officially joined the adult world and having been working these past few weeks, it’s been exhausting to say the least. I love my job, but working the extra days has really took me out of the picture, but I’m so grateful to come straight out of education and into a steady job. I’ve been coming home and just relaxing, too tired to write or do much else. But I feel that as I’m getting into the swing of things and getting myself used to the hours, I can start writing again.
The few weeks off has really been good for both me and this blog. I have a lot of exiting things planed and a better outlook.
But before I get onto that, one exciting date passed for this blog, its first year anniversary. Yes, Lost In The Story has been around for a whole year! How exciting is that? I never expected to grow a following and last this long on such a highly saturated platform. I’m truly thankful for all of you, my readers. I’ve learned so much about myself through this blog and continue to grow.
So more about these plans I have… Continue reading “I’m back, and just in time”
Since starting up Lost In The Story, I have gone a bit twitter mad.
I’m always on it, whether it’s looking a science gifs of big sea creatures eating smaller fish or finding recommendations of books to read, I’m always on it.
Truth be told, I don’t post all that often. Sure I retweet things but not really post. I’m not witty or sarcastic enough to really have a voice on twitter. I’m just the weird kid in the corner who is secretly listing in on your conversations, or at least that’s how I feel.
One thing I’ve started to do is follow more bloggers. This is mainly down to the fact that I’m in a class of 8 at college where none of my peers have much in common with me. I just want to find comfort in like-minded people, so I turn to bloggers because bloggers are epic!
I’m not really into beauty or fashion blogging, because I have no sense of style and am too lazy to wear makeup. However, I love reading books, have a passion for God and care a lot about people’s mental heath. None of these things are popular niches in the blogging world, so I have to put some effort in to find these sorts of blog.
In doing my detective work on twitter, I’ve stumbled across something a bit unsettling Continue reading “Getting genuine engagement as a ‘new’ blogger”
Life can get a little hectic right?
It doesn’t matter if you’re at college, university, work or just live a busy lifestyle. All of us can feel a tad overwhelmed at point. Or if you’re like me and you’re attempting to do a million things at once, well… you can feel like you’re drowning on a good day.
We’re only human, so it’s next to impossible to remember ever date, meeting and task. So a lot of us turn to planners to try to make sence of everything.
But a normal planer never did it for me.
I’m not sure if it was just too restrictive, inflexible or just too boring to want to use. I simply didn’t get a long with them. However, I needed something to get everything on paper.
Then I discovered bullet journaling. Continue reading “Bullet Journal pages that I can’t do without”
I’m a bit of a book nerd.
I love to read, there’s something quite magical about losing yourself to a book. So to celebrate the end of a crazy 2017 and my love for books, I’m going to share with you my best reads of 2017.
There’s no particular order, I wanted to originally do my top five books but when it came to chosing them I just could decide out of two of them. So, here are my top 6 books of the year. Continue reading “Favorites of 2017”
