How to run a blog as a student

As the new academic year has drawn closer, I’ve been thinking back to when I first started my blog in college. When I started, I couldn’t find much advice on how to navigate all of this. I didn’t know how to plan my time, my content, I thought I needed loads of fancy equipment and I felt a bit lost and lonely in it all. At the moment, I feel that many people will probably be starting their own blogs as they want to document a new and exciting time in their life as they go to college or University. Starting a blog is an awesome hobby, I can never seem to get bored with it. So, for those of you considering starting a blog or have just started one, I wanted to share with you a few tips and a bit of advice that I wished someone had told me when I first started. Putting yourself out there and the fear of the unknown- the life of a creative

After over a year since the idea was first materialised I hit publish on my Esty store, creating a listing for what I hope to be a fun little hobby in the making.

For those of you who don’t know Etsy is a global, online market place that mainly holds small, home-grown businesses. The majority of things sold are hand-made or of limited amount and the people behind the shops are really accommodating and helpful. I try to make an effort to buy as much stuff as possible from Etsy to support the small businesses there.

Since day one of discovering the platform I’ve wanted to sell on it. I make things for fun and thought it’d be a nice hobby that could bring in a small amount of pocket-money. The only problem was that I could never make the same thing consistently, and anything I did make was never a high enough standard to sell to people.

It wasn’t untill I was studying business and I took part in the £5 challenge that things changed. Continue reading “Putting yourself out there and the fear of the unknown- the life of a creative”

My favorites of 2018… so far

Due to my lack of ability to stay organised, I usually miss out on seasonal posts. At the start of the year I don’t talk about my favorite things of the previous year like most bloggers, mainly because I’m so stuffed full of Christmas dinner and New years party food that I can’t roll off the sofa let alone make my brain work enough to write a post. I’m also not a big buyer, so I don’t have enough new things to do a monthly favorites post either.

However, its half way through the year, I’m not a human turkey and I’ve accumulated enough things in these past six months that I really like. So I’ve spent the day confusing my family by taking photos of random objects and I’m bundling it all into a post for you guys.

Don’t worry, none of things things are sponsored (non of the companies who made these things even know I exist) so all of things bellow I honestly like and would recommend to my family and friend simply because they’re awesome. So here are my top 5 things of 2018…so far. Continue reading “My favorites of 2018… so far”

5 things college has taught me about my mental health

College is coming to a close. Students are running around in a blind panic and tutors are close to banging their head on a wall. Yes the end of the academic year will soon be upon us, and it couldn’t have come at a better time.

I’ve been at college for 3 years now and I am ready for it to end!

My first two years of forensic science were not too bad, but this final year of business has really seen me off. But despite these 3 years having a tone of difficulty’s and hardships, they’ve taught me an awful lot (I’m not just talking academically either). These 3 years have taught me so much about how to look after my mental health and that’s what I’d like to share with you today.

5 things that college has taught me about my mental health. Continue reading “5 things college has taught me about my mental health”
