Let’s talk about love – book review

These past few weeks I’ve had the pleasure of reading Let’s talk about love by Claire Kann. I’d spotted this book not too long back online, I’d read a few reviews and was finding myself pleasantly surprised with what I was reading from fellow bloggers. Truth be told, love stories really aren’t my thing. As a sub plot they’re fine but I’ve never gone down the whole romance route before and had few intentions to do so. However, I’d never before came across a character who was asexual so I was curious to read it and how the author would portray them. Continue reading “Let’s talk about love – book review”

My favorite read of 2018- Echoes

Last year I set myself the challenge to read 20 book in 2018 and sadly it was a challenge I didn’t achieve. Don’t get me wrong, I had a good crack at it, but being a sleepy young adult whose main goal at the end of a day working was to hibernate, really put a damper on eating up those books. There wasn’t any other reason that I didn’t read my 20 book other than I valued sleeping over reading… at least I’m being honest!

However, I did get though my fair share of words and even discovered my new favorite read. Seeing as I’m not in a self-reflection mood with the new year, I’m instead going to be having a good old ramble about my new favorite book, Echoes by Laura Tisdall. So buckle up guys, I’m going all out book nerd on you today!

A book that shaped my recovery pt2 – Bloom

In April I brought this incredible book called Bloom, I was so excited when it arrived at my house and like all good blogger, I posted about it on social media with the promise of when I was done with it I’d write a review.

The journal is meant to be three months long, what puts this review well over due but there is a reason for that (what I’ll get into later).

The author of this book is a lovely young woman called Caralyn who has a blog called Beauty Beyond Bones. I feel like I don’t have to write much of an introduction about her blog because I have a hunch so many of you will already know about her and are possible already following it.

My own blog here is based on very similar things, I share my faith and how God has helped me overcome anorexia in my own life. So if you’re following me and like what I write, I’d really recommend you check out Caralyn’s blog if you’re not doing so already (I’ll link it at the end of the post).

So what is Bloom?

Bloom is an interactive journal wrote to help those suffering with anorexia. It’s based off scripture, the authors own experiences during her time as an impatient getting treatment for anorexia and her current day reflections as a young woman living a fully free and recovered life. I’m back, and just in time

Well guys, I never been happier to be behind my laptop. It’s been a few weeks since my last post hasn’t it?

I’ve officially joined the adult world and having been working these past few weeks, it’s  been exhausting to say the least. I love my job, but working the extra days has really took me out of the picture, but I’m so grateful to come straight out of education and into a steady job. I’ve been coming home and just relaxing, too tired to write or do much else. But I feel that as I’m getting into the swing of things and getting myself used to the hours, I can start writing again.

The few weeks off has really been good for both me and this blog. I have a lot of exiting things planed and a better outlook.

But before I get onto that, one exciting date passed for this blog, its first year anniversary. Yes, Lost In The Story has been around for a whole year! How exciting is that? I never expected to grow a following and last this long on such a highly saturated platform. I’m truly thankful for all of you, my readers. I’ve learned so much about myself through this blog and continue to grow.

Thank you.

So more about these plans I have… Continue reading “I’m back, and just in time”

My favorites of 2018… so far

Due to my lack of ability to stay organised, I usually miss out on seasonal posts. At the start of the year I don’t talk about my favorite things of the previous year like most bloggers, mainly because I’m so stuffed full of Christmas dinner and New years party food that I can’t roll off the sofa let alone make my brain work enough to write a post. I’m also not a big buyer, so I don’t have enough new things to do a monthly favorites post either.

However, its half way through the year, I’m not a human turkey and I’ve accumulated enough things in these past six months that I really like. So I’ve spent the day confusing my family by taking photos of random objects and I’m bundling it all into a post for you guys.

Don’t worry, none of things things are sponsored (non of the companies who made these things even know I exist) so all of things bellow I honestly like and would recommend to my family and friend simply because they’re awesome. So here are my top 5 things of 2018…so far. Continue reading “My favorites of 2018… so far”

A bookish review- Braving the wilderness by Brené Brown

If there’s one thing that writing this post has taught me, it’s that I need to seriously up my photography game. I can not do a good flat lay for toffee. If you can do them then you’re not human. No human can do that.

Sadly though, it would be snowing here in the UK. I can’t get outside to take photos without getting my book sodden. So a white sheet and some pretty badges will have to do.

But moving on… Continue reading “A bookish review- Braving the wilderness by Brené Brown”
